Click to reveal the spoiler:
- Sanderson's Cosmere is a shared universe of seventeen novels, three graphic novels, two novellas, and a short story anthology
- Each primary series (Elantris, Mistborn, Stormlight Archives) and most of his other works (including Tress of the Emerald sea) are set on a different planet, each with a different system of magic
- There is initially very limited crossover between the worlds, but this increases as the overall Cosmere series progresses and the individual works begin to coalesce
- Tress is the fourteenth novel written and has a number of references to other works. If it's confusing, out of place, or mentioned once and never again, it's probably referencing something else.
